‘Project 2025’ is a US climate policy the right wing is pushing the next Republican to take on – gutting climate and environmental policy. Should Biden declare a climate emergency while he can?

It would be insane to suggest that the USA has really gone into saving the climate. To the contrary, the USA emits 14% of the world emissions for 4.23% of the population (their constant position is that China needs to act first, China does emit 29% of the carbon dioxide with 17% of the world, but their per capita pollution of China is 7.6 tonnes, verses 13.68 tonnes in the USA (almost twice as much).

So what is on their wish list?

This plan (called the ;Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise) includes eliminating 3 agency offices which are there to help the transition. They are also keen to slash the funding for other agencies. They want a huge increase in gas production, gutting of the EPA and make it stop looking at climate change (because nothing says you know what your doing more than trying to stop anyone saying your wrong).

This is mirrored by the GOP politicians which are trying to slip poison pills into every bill that is aimed to help with the horrific state that the environment is in.

The big question is, should democrats loose the white house in the next election (I hope unlikely given currently Donald Trump appears going to come back) the USA could become a huge climate pariah around the world. I also feel that there needs to be a structure so if a country behaves like this, they have to pay for the huge damage that they will do.

Some people are demanding increasingly loudly, that Joe Biden should declare a climate emergency. If he does not, and the next president is someone like Trump, there will be a far worse emergency before there is a chance for the USA to say something again. If you live there, then you must do something.
