The possibility of reintroducing Cheetah to India is once again being looked at

Rajasthan madlyya Pradesh and Gujarat are all looking at potential sites were cheetah could be reintroduced. Given the precarious state of the cheetah population in Iran (thought to only be 50-60 animals) the reintroductions would come from Africa.

A new feasibility study is required. However, unfortunately the same question continues to be, why reintroduce cheetah when India is so bad at looking after the big cats that currently roam the country.

These include Lion Leopard Tiger and snow leopard.

While it would be great to see the cheetah in India again, it must not be at the expense of other species that are still living there
