Kelp forests – See Animals Wild

A new study from Monteray Bay Aquarium has once again highlighted the importance of sea otters for the health of the Kelp forests

These kelp forests have an essential little helper for its survival. It has become clear that sea otters are essential members of communities of the kelp forests off the coast of California. Sea weed, which includes Kelp, locks away around 200 million tonnes of carbon each year and so are an essential part of the fight against global warming.

Alongside our members area, we have a second area for you to get involved. This second one is aimed at all readers of the site (Ambassador supporters). If you are like me, you are worried about the state of the natural world, and love seeing wildlife but might not have time to do as much as you would like - but would like to do your bit to save as much of the natural world as you can. We can't visit every wilderness on the planet, yet it is a far smaller task for all the readers of this site - particularly as it grows.
