Allensteig army training area, home to the first returning wolf territory of Austria
There is an army training area covering about 100 square miles, close to the town of Allensteig (just to the south). Entry into this area is possible with planning, however walking in the surrounding area is as likely to lead to sightings of the wolves that inhabit the area. Below is a booking.com map of the area.
