The western rock elephant shrew or western rock sengi is a species of elephant shrew in the family Macroscelididae. It is found in Namibia, South Africa, and possibly Angola and Botswana. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and rocky areas.

Smaller members of western rock elephant shrew possess functional brown adipose tissue, which changes in thermogenic capacity depending on the season. Its current status is least concern.

There are a total of 17 species of elephant shrew, and are found in almost all of Africa, except west Africa and the Sahara region. Their conservation status does vary widely, but unfortunately, even in the most helpful of places, a sighting of an elephant shrew is rare and incredibly lucky.
