Greece

Greece is a well known country in the far south east of Europe. Well known around the world, particularly for the ancient Greeks, and indeed much of the new testament of the bible was written in Greek, or far older copies of it exist in the language. This is why many people learn this ancient language.

However, there is also  a great deal of wilderness within the country. This was actually the last European refuge of lions, still found there until around 300 years before Jesus lived.

800 European bears live in the country, as well as 1020 wolves and an unknown lynx within the country (partly because they are seen so rarely). Smaller predators include the European jackal and wildcats, alongside European and Caucasian badgers, pine and beech marten, otters, least weasel and European polecat.

Ecotourism is better developed in the country than many others, and there is many people who will help you to find things to look at. We aim to link as many of these as possible in the future. These will appear down the page
