There are relatively few large mammals in Honduras, but apart from the collard and white-lipped peccaries and the Bairds tapir, there is also a range of cats, including JaguarCougar, Jaguarundi, Ocelot and Margay. There are a wide range of birds reptiles on the island, while whale sharks and dolphins can be found in the waters around the coast. There is also animals like giant anteaters, that are normally found in South America.Â
There is a wide array of amphibians, and the seas around the coast are teeming with coral reefs.
