Hamsters are rodents and belong to the subfamily Cricetinae, which contains 19 species classified in seven genera (some sites claim more others less, I will include images of as many as possible below). They have become established as popular small pets. The best-known species of hamster is the golden or Syrian hamster (extinct in the wild), which is the type most commonly kept as a pet. Other hamster species commonly kept as pets are the three species of dwarf hamster, Campbell’s dwarf hamster, the winter white dwarf hamster and the Roborovski hamster. As with other families like this, while I may create pages on individual species below, this is not a high priority, so they will appear in the future (if they ever do).
Below this, you will see a list of any articles on hamsters that have appeared on this website. Should you wish to list a place to see hamsters, get in touch, these will appear below the video.
