The central African republic is a landlocked country in central Africa. It is bordered by Chad to the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the east, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south, the Republic of the Congo to the southwest, and Cameroon to the west. 36.3% of the country is currently forested, with this percentage having fallen dramatically over the last few decades. None the less, there is still significant areas of forest. Unfortunately, we are destroying things we still know little about. These areas (one shown above) were only discovered in the last few decades, and appear to be places for socializing, as well as getting much needed salts missing from the rest of their range.
Central Africa still contains 100,000 or more of chimpanzees and 300,000 or more of gorillas, and are therefore essential for the continued survival of these primates.
Obviously, this website is eager to link with people in the country to help ecotourists to find places to visit within the country. You will find these at the bottom of the page, below a list of all mentions of this country on this website, and a video about a visit to the bai shown at the top of the page.
