Armenia

Species found in the country include brown bears, mouflons (wild sheep), bezoar goats, Caucasian leopards, deers, trout fish, Armenian gulls, black storks, Caucasian grouse, Armenian wolves today tend to live mostly deep in the forest of Dilijan or in the mountains of Jermuk far from people so they can survive; while this is good for the wolves, it means that it is very hard to see them in the wild.

While it may not be spoken of regularly, Armenia is actually one of the top 30 countries in the world in terms of biodiversity. With 83 mammals, 350 birds, and 250 butterflies and 3500 species of plants, there is a great deal of wildlife to see.

Arevik National Park in Syunik Province, Sevan National Parkin Gegharkunik Province, Lake Arpi National Park in Shirak Province and Dilijan National Park in Tavush Province are the best parts of the country to head to.

I hope over time, to link to places and people who can help with seeing wildlife in these and other areas. If you work in eco-tourism in the country, there are a variety of ways that we hope that we could work with you (register and we can move on from there)
